Dizzy Gillespie（本名：John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie、1917年10月21日 - 1993年1月6日）は、アメリカのジャズ・トランペット奏者、バンドリーダー、作曲家、歌手です。トランペットの名手であり、即興演奏家としても高く評価されました。Roy Eldridgeの技巧的なスタイルを発展させつつ、それまでのジャズにはなかった複雑な和声とリズムを取り入れました。
音楽性に加え、ショーマンシップと機知に富んだ人柄によって、ビバップと呼ばれる新しい音楽を広く浸透させた中心人物となりました。ベレー帽や黒縁眼鏡、スキャット唱法、曲がったトランペット、ふくらんだ頬は、ビバップを象徴する印象的なイメージとして知られています。
1940年代にはCharlie Parkerとともに、ビバップおよびモダン・ジャズの発展における重要人物となりました。Miles Davis、Jon Faddis、Fats Navarro、Clifford Brown、Arturo Sandoval、Lee Morgan、Chuck Mangione、歌手Johnny Hartmanら、多くの音楽家を指導し、影響を与えています。複雑で独自性の高い演奏スタイルは後進に大きな影響を残し、批評家とファンの双方から、史上最高のジャズ・トランペット奏者の一人と評価されています。
